Who this is for: a paired couple where one of you wants to set up the date this week.
One of you organises. You pick a few places, your partner gets them as sealed cards, and they pick one. We add one blind surprise. Neither of you scrolls a list.
Plan it
Home → Plan a date yourself.
- Pick a night. It has to be one of your free nights (Us → Shared guardrails), in the next three weeks.
- Pick the places. We suggest a few ideas for each part of the evening: Dinner, Do and After. Every idea is inside your guardrails: your distance, your budget, how you get around, your food rules, no alcohol if that’s your rule. Pick one for each part you want.
- Add this card. We lay the evening out with times and walks, and check it against every rule again. If one combination doesn’t fit, we say why and you pick another.
- Add another card if you like, then Send to {your partner}.
When you send, we add one blind surprise: an evening we chose for that night, from places you were not shown. Nobody sees what it is until you both say yes.
| Free | Set up this date ($2.99) or Keep the Spark | |
|---|---|---|
| Ideas for each part of the evening | 2 | 3 |
| Your cards on the ballot | 2 | 3 |
| The blind surprise | Yes | Yes |
| 3 more ideas in one part of the evening | $0.99 | $0.99 |
You can buy Three more ideas at most three times for one part of the evening. It’s still a short set of options, never a list.
What your partner sees
Your partner gets one notification: {you} planned {night} for you. On their phone every card is sealed: a short line about the evening, when to leave, the spend and how you get there. Never a place name. One card is marked Blind surprise.
- Pick this one on one of your cards: it opens at once, for both of you. You chose it, so your yes is already in. It works like any revealed plan: the places, the times, the calendar invites, Tonight and the afterglow.
- Pick this one on the blind surprise: you get {your partner} picked the blind surprise. Tap Yes, blind and it opens for both of you. You don’t see it first. Not this time means no card this week.
- None of these: you hear that it was none of these, never which cards they passed over.
Your partner picks before the evening (two hours before it starts). If nobody picks by then, the ballot closes.
None of these
You can send one new ballot that week:
- With Keep the Spark it’s included.
- Otherwise it’s One new ballot · $0.99.
After that one, the week is a night in, or you wait for next week’s plan.
The weekly plan
When you send a ballot, that week’s Thursday plan steps aside: the ballot is the week’s date. You still get the usual plan every other week.
Privacy
- Your partner never sees the places on your cards before a card opens.
- You never see which cards your partner passed over, only the one that opened.
- What you paid for (Set up this date, more ideas, a new ballot) shows to you only, so a surprise stays a surprise.
- Nobody pays us to be on a card. Places are chosen for your rules and your tastes, never for what a place earns us.
