Terms of service

The fine print, kept short.

These terms apply when you use unplan.me or the app at app.unplan.me. By creating an account or submitting a venue you agree to them.

What unplan is

unplan sends a paired couple one sealed date plan a week, by default every Thursday at 6 PM city time (a couple can choose another date-night day, and the plan then arrives two days before it). Both partners vote blind. With two yeses the plan opens. A veto opens one alternative (“last call”). We plan inside the guardrails you set, and we try hard to get every detail right, but venues are independent businesses: opening hours, prices and availability can change, and we can’t guarantee them.

When something changes after a plan opens (rain, a closure, a cancelled hold) we may swap a stop and tell you. You can always keep the original. A longer walkthrough is on how it works.

Your account

  • You must be 18 or older. Where a plan includes alcohol, you must be of legal drinking age.
  • One account per person, paired with one partner at a time.
  • Keep your sign-in secure. You’re responsible for what happens in your account.
  • Be honest in your guardrails. They’re how we keep plans doable for you.

Paying for unplan

Plan Price
Free $0. A sealed plan every week from at-home and low-cost ideas
Set up this date $2.99, once. Unlocks one premium plan, or one date you organise
Keep the Spark $7.99 a month or $59.99 a year. A premium plan every week

One plan covers you both. Prices include or exclude tax as shown at checkout. Payments are handled by Stripe.

Refunds and cancelling

  • Set up this date: if the plan you unlocked can’t go ahead for a reason that isn’t yours (the first stop falls through and we can’t replace it, or we couldn’t build a premium plan that week), we refund the $2.99 automatically. You don’t need to ask. Your own veto or a missed vote isn’t refunded.
  • Keep the Spark: cancel any time from Us → Plan → Manage. You keep premium plans until the end of the period you’ve paid for. We don’t refund part-used periods, except where the law says we must.
  • Gift codes: once redeemed, the code becomes a Keep the Spark subscription for its length and doesn’t renew.
  • Anything else: write to our help address and we’ll sort it out.

If you live in the UK or the EU. You have 14 days from buying Keep the Spark to cancel without giving a reason. When you buy, you ask us to start straight away and confirm you understand what that means; if you then cancel within the 14 days, we refund what you paid minus the days you have used. Set up this date and add-ons are for one date and start when you buy them: once the date has opened you can no longer cancel them, but the automatic refunds above still apply. A gift code can be cancelled for a full refund within 14 days of buying it if it has not been redeemed. A booking with a service partner for a set date and time (a table, a show, a stay, a class) is not covered by the 14-day right; the partner’s cancellation terms, shown before you confirm, apply. To cancel, use Us → Plan → Manage or write to us from Us → Help and reports.

Services from partner businesses

unplan can introduce you to services around a date (a sitter, flowers, a car home, a class) from service partners that a person at unplan has vetted. Partners are chosen for fit and quality; nobody can pay for a better place, and offers are labelled as offers.

  • Before you confirm, we show the service partner, the price and the cancellation terms. Nothing is booked or paid until you confirm it.
  • The service partner provides the service and is responsible for it, unless we say otherwise on the confirmation. unplan is not the provider. If something goes wrong, tell us: a complaint pauses a partner while we look into it.
  • What a service partner receives is only what the booking needs, for that request. See the privacy policy.
  • Prices, availability and cancellation terms are the service partner’s. A booking for both of you says who pays and tells the other partner.

The AI assistant

Keep the Spark includes an assistant (the concierge) with a monthly limit on requests; the limit is shown in the app and can change. A free account gets a small taste.

  • It can be wrong. It only proposes venues, partners and prices from our vetted records or a live answer from the partner, but check the summary before you confirm.
  • It acts only when you confirm. It can’t spend your money by itself.
  • What it remembers is visible to you, and you can correct or delete it. See the privacy policy.

Connecting your own AI

You may connect your own AI assistant to unplan from Us. You are responsible for that assistant and its account, and for the token you create: keep it private and revoke it if you lose it. Your assistant can add drafts to your list. It can’t confirm, book or pay: only you can, in unplan, from the app, from the email we send to your account address, or from a one-time link. Don’t use it to scrape unplan, to reach anyone else’s data or to try to bypass a limit.

Fair use

Don’t misuse unplan: no scraping, no automated sign-ups, no attempts to see what your partner voted or to open sealed plans early, no harassment of venues or other couples. We may suspend accounts that do.

Your content

Photos and words you add stay yours. You let us store them and show them to you and your partner so the journal works. We don’t use your photos in marketing without asking.

Terms for venues

These apply when you submit a venue as a Date Night Candidate.

  • Free. There’s no listing fee and no commission.
  • You’re authorised. You confirm you own or manage the venue, or have permission to submit it.
  • Accurate details. Keep your hours, prices and booking details up to date. Tell us if something changes.
  • Our words. We may write our own description of your venue and use your answers to write the sealed teasers couples see. Teasers never name your venue, street or neighbourhood.
  • Table holds. If you agree to hold tables, please honour confirmed holds or tell us as early as you can, so we can find couples another spot.
  • Our choice. Submitting doesn’t guarantee you’ll appear in plans. We may decline or pause a venue at any time, for example after repeated cancellations.
  • Leave any time. Ask us to update or remove your venue at any time.
  • Contact details. We use your name and email only to run your listing. See the privacy policy.

Terms for service partners and city partners

A business that applies at unplan.me/partners is vetted in stages (documents, reputation, a test booking, probation) before it is listed, and applying does not promise a listing. Listed partners sign a separate partner agreement, which covers fees (they can change with notice), how bookings and cancellations work and what a partner may do with a couple’s details: only what the booking needs, nothing else, and no contact outside the job. People who run unplan in a city as city partners (resellers) sign a separate agreement; see unplan.me/resellers.

Liability

unplan is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for what happens at a venue, or for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law, or our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts may hear any dispute. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you also keep the protection of your own country’s mandatory consumer law and may bring a claim in your own courts. The service is run by Intars Olbiks t/a unplan.me, in the United Kingdom.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we’ll tell you before it takes effect. Questions: our help address.
