Some weeks the best date is the one with the fewest decisions. These are kinds of evening that ask very little of either of you.
Somewhere you sit, then somewhere you walk
Two stops are enough: one place to sit down and one short walk after it. The walk is where the conversation happens.
The early one
Go out at six and be home by nine. Tired couples skip late nights, not early ones.
Somebody else cooks, at home
Order in, but set the table, put the phones in another room and pick a theme. It is the effort of ten minutes, and it changes the evening.
Something to watch together, somewhere that is not your sofa
A small screening, a gig, a reading. You do not have to talk the whole time, and you still did something together.
When even choosing between these is too much, that is exactly the week a sealed plan is for.
