About unplan

unplan is a date-night app for couples. Every Thursday at 6 PM, each couple gets a sealed plan: dinner, a place and a time. Each partner votes privately. When both say yes, the plan opens and the table is held.

We launch one new city a week. Australia is next: Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

The role

You lead unplan in Australia as a co-founder. You open Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, find and support the City Hosts who run each city day to day, and own the quality of every plan couples get in the region.

You work directly with me and the other city co-founders on how unplan runs and what we build next.

What you'll do

  • Open each Australian city: venue pool, table holds at the best places, and a launch plan with our city agent
  • Find, bring on and support a City Host in each city
  • Review each week's plans for local sense: opening hours, travel time, quality
  • Build relationships with venues, event organisers and local partners
  • Bring in the first couples through your own network and local channels
  • Join the weekly founders' call

What you'll earn

  • Equity in unplan, vesting over time and set out in a written agreement
  • Commission on what couples spend on unplan in every Australian city you open and manage
  • The equity and commission are negotiated with you, person to person
  • This is commission-only. There is no salary and no guaranteed income, and we can't promise what you'll earn.

How it works

  • Self-employed, working your own hours, based in Australia
  • Couples ask for extras from the app and are never pushed. You won't be selling.
  • Each city is run day to day by a commission-based City Host, supported by you
  • A written agreement, reviewed by lawyers, before you start

Who we're looking for

  • Hospitality, events or restaurant background, with venue relationships in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane
  • Experience opening a market, a venue or a team, and helping other people run it
  • Someone who wants a real stake early as a co-founder
  • Organised, fast to reply, good with people
